Agata and I arrived at the foundation on October 17 with the purpose to stay more or less- two month. For me, it was my third time to the foundation but for Agata, it was her first!
We arrived during Diwali- the ‘Festival of Lights’ so everyone was in festive mood for some days. When finally everything started again, Krishna asked us to paint some new fences of the school building because everything seemed rusty and a bit dirty.
We started to clean the fences and paint white before we painted with the colors in gradation as they asked. When Krishna and his wife Leela saw our work, they were so happy that they asked us to revamp other places as well. So we painted the fence around the pond in the garden with green and blue shades and also the fence upstairs the eco cafe.
The work was long because we had to paint with white first and then mix the colors to do the shading between the main colors- red, blue and yellow. We are really happy for our significant contribution in beautifying of the foundation.
Another project of mine was to make some new postcards in order to generate income for the sustainable development of the foundation. So I chose two kindergartens and the playground of the school to take some pictures of the children; I selected my Best 10 pictures which I handed over to print. Unfortunately, the quality was not the best but anyways, I am happy for my contribution.
The foundation always needs some new volunteers with new ideas and a lot of energy to develop the projects. Just few of your days are enough to help in the garden, in the kindergarten or to start new projects. In addition, it is really welcoming for anyone to stay at the foundation as normal guest, maybe for a break from the chaotic and hectic Kathmandu!
So what are you waiting for? If you are in Nepal, do visit this fantastic place!
